MacSlash will not be providing live keynote updates today during Steve Jobs Macworld Keynote. However, there are some sources on the web that will have live coverage. Here's the list we know about. If you know of others, please list them in the comments.
And, it will be interesting to see how Twitter holds up during the keynote, since there will be many Twitterers in the hall, presumably updating from their phones.
This one slipped in through the door just in time to be a final "pre-keynote rumour." Feel free to speculate about what you expect in a few hours, as well. Heidi writes "Expect a press release late Wednesday night regarding a new laptop case to
SHIP THIS FRIDAY if Steve Jobs announces a new laptop at Macworld tomorrow.
Two additional custom cases will follow in a matter of weeks.
Just a heads-up to keep an eye out for it if you are interested.
Kind regards,

kev0153 writes "Amongst all the exciting news today I saw this little gem. Garmin International Inc. today announced that it will immediately begin to make its line of GPS and mobile electronics devices compatible with Mac OS X version 10.4 "Tiger." This makes Garmin the first major GPS designer and manufacturer to announce direct support for Mac OS X.
"We are very excited to be supporting the many tech-savvy Garmin users who are also Mac devotees," said Min Kao, Garmin Ltd.'s chairman and CEO. "Mac users have been encouraging us to make our GPS units Mac compatible, and we've listened. We hope this brings the many benefits of GPS to current Mac users
and invites future Apple customers to the Garmin fold." The rest of the press release can be found here."

While my wife cries in her cereal as she waits for the Intel-powered iBook, I finally have some explanation as to why they didn't offer it up first. According to Macworld, Apple thought long and hard about which models to bring to market first. To me, their answer is half-compelling: the PowerBook was embarassing for how long its performance stagnated. On the other hand, the iBook has gone super-long without an update, so I don't think it'll be too long before we see it.
Brent Simmons writes "MarsEdit 1.1 is out of beta, shipping today! It’s a universal binary—it runs on Intel Macs as well as PowerPC Macs. It has a bunch of other new features, including support for Technorati tags, enclosures, titles for Blogger weblogs, date editing, and easy text filters support. Here's what's new in MarsEdit 1.1. It costs $24.95, and is available bundled with NetNewsWire for $39.95. And it’s a free upgrade for current MarsEdit users."
Jennifer DeLeo writes "At this year's Macworld Expo in San Francisco, Apple just announced a
remote control for the current-generation iPod that has an integrated FM tuner. When you tune into a radio station, the station is displayed on the iPod's screen. It's pretty small, and people have been asking for something like this for a long time, though we're still wishing for this feature to be integrated into the iPod itself. The remote is available for $49 directly from Apple." Cool! 80 year old technology, now available in white plastic gizmo for only $50. Or, as acaben said about the original iPod, it's over-priced, under-featured, and I'd be surprised if they sold two of them. His Apple Prognosticating skills are unrivaled. :)
