Macs May Be Immune To CD Copy Protection Schemes
posted by j on Thursday November 08, @01:41PM
from the CDs-are-so-80s-anyways dept.
News staplin writes "I was browsing over at newsforge when I found an item featuring a site that lists CD's that have been "copy protected" so that they can't be ripped to mp3 (or any other format) without picking up horribly skipping or other distortions. But more interesting, was the note that Macs may be immune to some of these copy protection schemes. The page is thin on facts, and I haven't found anything else on the web that might back this up. Does anyone else out there have concrete info? " This would be good news and another good reason to buy a Mac instead ow a Wintel machine.
