Can new iBook be hacked to do video spanning?
posted by j on Saturday May 26, @07:35PM
from the how-can-anyone-work-on-a-single-monitor dept.
iBook Greg Meece writes "I know that ATI advertises their ATI Rage 128 Mobility chips as having video spanning built in. I'm wondering if Apple simply disabled this in software, or if there is a true hardware limitation. On the one hand, I can understand wanting to keep the iBook and PowerBook lines separate. On the other, I for one would buy the iBook ASAP if it had this feature. Anyone with info on this care to speculate? If it could be hacked to use monitor spanning, I'd be at the front of the line. "
